 Statement of Faith

We believe in the Triune God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, alone supreme, all holy and all loving. He is the source and reason for all existence, and the rightful object of all worship, love and obedience. He is constantly worshipped and obeyed by innumerable glorious angels as, enthroned in the Heaven of Heavens, He rules all things.

We believe in Jesus Christ, eternally with God, being himself God. He is the only begotten Son of God, not in the sense of his origin, but in his resurrection and his position. He is the Word of God, being the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His reality. He became man, being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He came to proclaim the way of salvation and to give his life as a substitutionary sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins. He was crucified and rose again from the dead on the third day, and ascended into heaven. He will come again in power and glory to judge all who have ever lived, to receive His own to eternal glory and to reign forever.

We believe in God the Holy Spirit, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. He convicts the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgement to come. He indwells those who truly believe, producing the fruit of righteousness, and he gives gifts to individuals to minister to the church.

We believe that the Bible, as originally given, is the word of God. It contains what God wants to say to us in all generations. It is the life-giving medium, through which the Holy Spirit speaks to us and through us. It is to be studied with a careful love of truth, reverence, obedience and prayerfulness, comparing Scriptures in order to find its true meaning, thereby avoiding the twisting of Scripture to suit our carnal desires, at the risk of our own destruction.

We believe that God operates through the local church, teaching Christians to encourage, love and minister to one another in various ways, as opportunity arises. We also believe in a universal church composed of believers from every age and place, who truly love the Lord and seek to trust and obey him.

We believe that prayer is the vital breath of the Christian in worship, confession, thanksgiving and intercession. The fervent prayer of a righteous person has great power to accomplish God’s will.

We believe that God is not willing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance. We therefore pray that the Lord of the Harvest would send out labourers into his harvest, to make disciples of all nations.
